1. Scrub the driftwood with a brush to remove dirt and debris.
2. Boil for 2?3 hours to release tannins. Repeat until water stays clear.
3. Soak in room-temperature water for 3-7 days or more, based on your requirement.
4. Rinse thoroughly.
5. Disinfect (optional): Soak in potassium permanganate solution for 20 minutes, then rinse.
6. Rest in water for 2 days, then rinse again before placing in the tank.
